- If you started from the “X” in your top menu you will already be in the Cornerstone page editor.
- If you started from the Dashboard, select PAGES (All Pages) from the dashboard menu, then EDIT WITH CORNERSTONE from the page you wish to edit.
- Note: The default editor for pages is Cornerstone. Almost all, if not all pages have been produced in Cornerstone. If you use the EDIT link above instead of EDIT WITH CORNERSTONE, you will then have the choice to use the WordPress editor or the Cornerstone editor. However, be aware that the two editors are NOT COMPATIBLE. When first creating a page one must decide to use either Cornerstone or the WordPress editor. If you try to change the editor of an existing page, you will receive a warning about the incompatibility.

The Editor Display Format
The actual editor is in the left column. On the right is a WYSIWYG view of the resultant web page in real time. The page view on the right also allows you to specify what part of the page you are editing.
Layout
For each page you construct a general layout. The top level layout is SECTION. There must be at least one section for a page. Multiple sections are used to divide the page into different basic formats, but often you will find that just one section is sufficient for most pages.
In the view below, LAYOUT is selected and shows a page with one SECTION. Note: Section 1 was further opened with the carat, revealing one ROW. On the right, the content in Section 1 is outlined.
The next level layout below SECTION is ROW. In this section, there is just one row, but there can be many. You can see that this row has just one COLUMN, but you can choose to have multiple columns and their respective width.

- Elements are where you actually insert content into a page. The list of elements is long and you will probably settle on a few favorites like “Classic Text” or “Classic Accordion” (which you are seeing on this Guide page). Cornerstone has recently doubled the number of Elements list with enhanced element versions (and a few new ones). I find the ones in the CLASSICAL ELEMENTS list sufficient and easier to use.

- Probably the most frequent use of the editor will be to change the content of a page. To pull up whatever part of the page that needs editing, click on it from the right side. That will display the appropriate editing window on the left side.
- In the example below, the CLASSIC TEXT Element has been selected, and that Element is now displayed on the left for editing. Note the “bread crumb trail” at the top which shows where you are on the page. In this case, we are editing a CLASSIC TEXT Element inside a “1/1” column, inside ROW 1, inside SECTION 1.
