AVP-USA BYLAWS PROPOSED CHANGES
WE WANT YOUR INPUT!
What’s going on with the Bylaws??
The Bylaws Committee members have been working on a proposal for revisions to the AVP-USA Bylaws and Policy Statement since June 2016; they are excited to announce that a draft of the Bylaws proposal and a draft of the Policy Statement proposal are available for review! The deadline for feedback on the Bylaws proposal is April 3, 2017. The final proposals will be available by April 28th, and the anticipated date for consideration of the Bylaws proposal is May 28, 2017, at the Annual National Gathering in Boston.
How can I get more information?
The Bylaws Committee put together a few documents regarding the proposed changes to the AVP-USA Bylaws and Policy Statement (download from the links):
These documents are being distributed on the AVP-USA list serve (“AVP-L”) and other AVP email lists, and will be available online at AVPUSA.org. You can also request a hard copy of the proposals by writing to the Distribution Center.
How can I get involved?
All AVP facilitators (particularly inside facilitators and other individuals who do not plan on attending the Annual National Gathering) are asked to discuss the proposals and pass on comments and concerns to the Bylaws Committee and to the Board as soon as possible. There are two primary ways to provide feedback on the draft proposals:
By email: The Bylaws Committee can be reached by email, at email@example.com.
By phone/conference call: The Bylaws Committee will be scheduling several phone calls over the next few weeks to explain the proposals, respond to questions, and listen to suggestions and concerns. Keep an eye out for more information soon.
As noted above, the deadline for feedback on the draft Bylaws proposal is April 3, 2017. The final proposals will be available by April 28th, and the anticipated date for consideration of the Bylaws proposal is May 28, 2017, at the Annual National Gathering in Boston.
