In An Ideal World Documentary Film, produced by Noel Schwerin An intimate and stirring portrait of three men on the frontlines of crime and punishment in America, the film goes deep inside a California prison to explore — and honor — the human drama at its core. Shot over seven years with unlimited access, the film is an immersive story told firsthand, without outside experts or narration. A white warden at ease with authority, a separatist mafioso and a black gangbanger, all three men come from different worlds, yet sharing a culture that has institutionalized the American racial landscape.  It features California AVP mixed-race workshops that hope to challenge inmates' long-held views about race and power. The film is in limited national release, and we are honored to be able to screen it.    Saturday Evening __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Dana Lyons Songfest Environmentalist, Activist, and a Great Composer/Singer.   Dana lives in Bellingham, WA and is active in environmental issues in the world.  He's collaborated with Jane Goodall, and performed in such diverse venues as Australia and Ireland (where he listed near the top of their charts), Mexico, and Siberia. He's currently writing and performing about the adverse effect on our ecosystem from coal trains and salmon river mining in the NW. His sharp wit and wry humor are expressed in hit songs like "Cows With Guns", and "Ride the Lawn", while his empathy and compassion is seen in "Just Beyond the Wall (I see barbed wire everywhere)".
