Originally developed byAfricans to rebuild ravaged communities in Rwanda and Burundi using AVP as a template, HROC focuses on transforming thetraumatic effects of violence and war into an opportunity for peace and trustbuilding, and ending the cycle of hatred and revenge. HROC facilitators haveworked with rape survivors, ethnic and immigrant communities, at-risk youth andthose with HIV+/AIDs. They create safe and supportive groups, which sustainpeace building efforts.
